The West End of Glasgow is particularly noted for its bohemian style, academic heritage, and cosmopolitan nightlife.  Eclectic boutiques rub shoulders with fine restaurants, lively pubs, and quirky shops, while the University of Glasgow and its Gothic spires look proudly on.  Other attractions in the West End include the Botanic Gardens with its glasshouses and children's playpark, the recently renovated and eminently browsable Kelvingrove Art Galleries and Museum, Kelvin Hall (scene of many great sporting events in Glasgow's history), and the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Glasgow City Centre is just a short hop by bus, train, or taxi from 44 Edgehill, and there's so much more for you to explore.  If it's retail therapy you're after, then look no further than Buchanan Street and the elegant Princes Square shopping centre.  Foodies can head to the Farmers' Markets dotted around town, or sample the delights prepared by some of Scotland's finest chefs at Rogano, the Ubiquitous Chip, and the like.  Sports fans will be in football heaven at the national Scottish Football Museum by Hampden Park, or while you're in town, you might be lucky enough to catch a famous 'Old Firm' match at Ibrox or Parkhead.
